Team Philosophy
We believe that each player is a unique child of God and a valued member of our team.
Our goal and commitment is to develop successful Christian young ladies by teaching and practicing valuable life skills through teamwork such as: good sportsmanship, strategic thinking, physical fitness, communication, friendships, service, scripture, and prayer.
Elementary
Our elementary team will focus on growing a love for volleyball. Players will be introduced to the sport and will begin learning the fundamentals of serving, bumping, and setting with an emphasis on having fun and building friendships. Coaches will provide encouraging constuctive feedback. All players will receive time on the court during matches.
Junior High
Our junior high team will focus on continuing to grow in a love and appreciation of the sport while being introduced to competitive play in a fun, encouraging environment. A focus on mastering the fundamentals and striving for personal excellence will also be encouraged in order to prepare players for high school level athletics. Coaches will provide constructive feedback, encourage skill development, assign homework, introduce positional play, give opportunities to show improvement, and follow up with players throughout the season. Players will not receive equal play time, but every player will experience competitive play during matches and may have the opportunity to participate in tournaments throughout the season.
High School
Our high school team will begin to focus on strategy while pursuing excellence. Athletes should be determined, passionate, committed to developing skill, and should love the competitive nature of the game. Additionally, high school players should set an example to the younger players of good sportsmanship and character. Coaches will provide constructive feedback, encourage mastery, assign homework, and provide skill development opportunities. Players may not receive play time in every match but every player will experience competitive play during the season and may have the opportunity to participate in tournaments throughout the season.
When elementary, junior high, and high school players are not on the court they are asked to observe, pray for, encourage, and to cheer on their team to victory with a positive and content attitude. Younger, newer, or less experienced players will spend more time on the sidelines watching and learning. Generally players with the most experience, ability, and training will have greater opportunities for play.
